Gearing up for Macworld Expo

It’s on! By that, I mean that Macworld Expo has commenced with the conference track this morning, and the main show will start on Thursday.

I’ve been in San Francisco since the weekend, recovering from jet lag, but yesterday was the first day that I really started to feel in the Macworld mood.

I was lucky to meet up with a pile of Mac guys last night for dinner – with good representation from fellow podcaster/writers as well as followers of the site & show. It was a robust bunch, and the conversation was wide in topic and stimulating on content. The food wasn’t bad, either!

Today, I am settled into a room at the Moscone Center, and sitting in on the conference sessions. Conference is a big part of Macworld Expo, that in the past has been somewhat overshadowed by the buzz around Apple and their keynote. Apple aren’t here this year, and as such the conference is a bit more front and centre. The sessions I have attended so far have been pretty comprehensive in content, and I am definitely learning new tricks.

This evening, Tim & Guy will be coming in from the East, providing they can beat the snow. I am looking forward to planning out our live podcast on Thursday with Guy, and there’s plenty of show floor planning to do as well. My inbox is bulging with PR material from the vendors who will be exhibiting from Thursday onward, and we also hope to record a Geekiest Show Ever as well.

Couple that with other MyMac staffers coming in, recording and posting audio/video segments, and it will be a busy few days, albeit enjoyable. We hope to be posting plenty of content and comment from what we see here on the site, so be sure to let us know what you think!
