RAMGuage v1.3

Freeware

Ever want to know how much memory you have left that you can use without having to quit an application. Well then go to “About this Macintosh.” That’s what I think at least!!!! Obviously Syzygy Cult doesn’t think so. They’ve developed a number system on the menu bar of that will tell you in megabytes, kilobytes, or bytes how much memory you have left to use. This is okay, I guess……

What it contains
This control panel contains three settings for RAM calculation. It can go standard (same as “About this Macintosh”), front application only (memory used by current application), or system. You can also choose what type of font, size, and color you want the memory bar to read on the top of your screen. One problem I see from using this is that the number doesn’t move as different applications are opened. For example, if you open America Online the RAMGauge doesn’t move out more towards the right of the screen. It just stays in the same spot and it covers up one of the menu bar options for AOL. Talk about a poor job of programming.

Personally …..
In my opinion this is just for lazy people. I don’t think this is a necessary item needed to make your life any easier. But if you’re sitting at your computer right now reading this and saying to yourself….”This is the control panel I’ve been looking for,” then don’t take this article personally!!!!!
