Mondays. They always come too soon after the weekend. Here I am, just getting used to being off for a couple of days, and what happens? I find myself once more behind a desk, slaving away over a hot keyboard. blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda. You know the drill.
But it is the minor things that bother me most. The things that don’t really affect my life in the slightest. Guess that means my life is pretty good, after all, if this is all that bothers me on an early Monday morning.
First of all, I don’t like the new James Blond. Bring back Pierce Brosnan. He can gracefully grow old in the Bond movies like Sean Connery did. Where did this pasty-faced blong guy come from? And why is he wearing a life preserver at his coming-out party? Bond would never wear one of those (well, perhaps Roger Moore would have).
Second, am I the only one who was less than thrilled by the new iPods? (HERESY?!) Oh, I like the new iPods, sure – thinner, more capacity, same price and all. But it is the video part that annoys me. See, I was expecting a much bigger screen for anything to be playing video – say at least as big as the Sony PSP. You can read the rest of my rant in my last blog here. Somebody already named it for me, the “iBrief.” Pretty cool.
Third, Yet another remake of a bad ‘B’ movie from the 70s (‘The Fog’) actually pushed ‘Wallace and Gromit’ from the big screen this weekend. Blather! How can anyone want to see some third-rate slimey slasher movie over the seminal claymation thriller of ‘The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit?’ Gromit’s brow has more acting angst than the actor who plays ‘Superboy’ has in his whole body.
But, that’s it. I’m done with whinning here on a soggy, cold, dark California Monday morning. Trying to limit my grumbling a bit, you know. Besides, I ain’t had my morning coffee yet.
Regards,
Roger Born
