Just in case you live somewhere in the US where the law concerning the use of cell phones while operating a motor vehicle hasn’t been changed yet, you can expect that the days of holding your cell phone while you’re driving are probably going to be coming to an end soon. Between the push of concerned groups and the studies documenting the incidences of serious injuries and death because the driver was busy on the phone and not really paying attention to what they were doing, mainly driving a car, states and localities are requiring the use of hands-free devices for use when driving a car.

On the 27th of October the network carriers Vodafone and O2 celebrated their adoption of the iPhone 4. Already having had the iPhone on its network for some months now, eplus didn’t have as much to celebrate, other than being able to sell the iPhone unlocked and free to use with all carriers now. I went to the O2 flagship store in Cologne, Germany with a friend to get her new iPhone 4 with a contract adaptation of her previous mobile contract.

Like many Photoshop users I upgrade to the current version when the need for the newest features becomes too tempting to ignore. The latest version of Adobe Photoshop is CS5. A bevy of extraordinary new improvements such as Content-Aware Fill, Camera Raw 6, Brushes, Puppet Warp, Refine Edge Dialog, amongst others, make this application a creative and more efficient way to process workflow.

The iOS devices come with a Notes app, which is good for quickly jotting down items, like a shopping list or a gift idea. But what if you want a little more? Maybe you need to take notes at a meeting, or you have an idea for the next great American novel. PlainText might be just what you’re looking for.

Guy is back from being ill but it doesn’t seem to make things easier for Gaz. It starts off a little rough (but Guy doesn’t edit it out because it’s funny) and gets crazy from there. Gaz thinks he may still need an AppleTV and Guy builds a RAID 1 for his iTunes content. Are Netbooks getting killed by the iPad or are they victims of their own crappiness? Android tablets are on the way (eventually), but should Apple be concerned? Would you be interested in a smartphone app that helps you through a museum, art gallery, or other attractions? The Eiffel Tower rents out iPads to do just that. Microsoft is finally putting out Windows Phone 7, some three years after the iPhone.

Gaz orders and then cancels a new iPod Touch because he loves animals more than technology. Guy runs Ethernet cable which messes up the house (and doesn’t please his wife) and we have a Listener Invite this week with Roman Woznik of the MacCoreTV Podcast. We have a bit of a gab about if Apple should actually reign IN some of the less well thought out apps in iTunes for iOS as it passes over 250 thousand available. Also some talk if Apple is holding the iPod Touch back to make the iPhone look even better. There’s a couple of birthdays and believe it or not, Guy accepts cash

One of the joys of buying consumer electronics is having to decide whether or not to purchase a warranty for your shiny new toy. Most warranties are fairly limited, expensive, and generally worth thinking about carefully before deciding to purchase. But not so with AppleCare. AppleCare is a no brainer. If you’re considering buying an Apple product, and you’re not planning on getting AppleCare, then Lucy, you have some ‘splainin to do.

You see I own a cell phone and the last two phones I have owned have had stickers on them clearly stating if the phone is held in “this specific place” reception could drop. In fact it did drop and I lost calls every time I held the phone in that spot. On my previous phone I had to train myself not to hold the phone a specific way than I was used to holding it.
