MyMac Podcast 31 – It’s MY Idea (The Train Wreck Show!)

Guy is back from being ill but it doesn’t seem to make things easier for Gaz. It starts off a little rough (but Guy doesn’t edit it out because it’s funny) and gets crazy from there. Gaz thinks he may still need an AppleTV and Guy builds a RAID 1 for his iTunes content. Are Netbooks getting killed by the iPad or are they victims of their own crappiness? Android tablets are on the way (eventually), but should Apple be concerned? Would you be interested in a smartphone app that helps you through a museum, art gallery, or other attractions? Review – Otterbox Defender Series iPad Case

When I found out about Otterbox’s new Defender Series case for the iPad, I jumped at the opportunity to review it. New Models and Old Timers
MyMac Podcast 309

Guy’s the REAL old timer, while Gaz gently guides him through the 21st century with new technology. We have Neil Worton as a Listener invite as we go over all the big announcements for the September 1st Apple event. MyMac Podcast 307: With Listener invite Gaz’ or Guy

Gaz is back from a work and holiday break from the podcast and got to see the Royal Air Force Red Arrows acrobatic flying team. Guy obviously confuses the US Navy Blue Angels and the US Air Force Thunderbirds and he’s really, really sorry about that. They gab a bit about the iPad on the road, the Magic TrackPad, and Gaz’s problems with his Mac Mini. We go on as well about iPhones and Verizon. We FINALLY get to the 2nd part of the Gaz and David Cohen interview (because we both like David so there!)

iPad App Review – The Elements

The first thing you notice about The Elements is the HD graphics. In a word, they’re stunning. The app opens with Tom Lehrer’s famous Elements song where he sings the names of all of the elements. As the song plays, each element’s native state appears as a rotating high-definition video, filling up the Periodic Table of the Elements as it goes. If you’re interested in science at all, it’s awesome.
