So many topics, so little quality

First off I’d like to thank all the folks who helped out with testing Gmail. So thanks Ernie, Beth, Matthias and Xiang.

Let me take a moment an address Xiang personally. Xiang you repeatedly ask when you are going to get in the alliteration hall of fame. The answer is you aren’t, it’s not going to happen. No way, no how. I can overlook the fact that your email address seems to indicate your name actually starts with J. If I was betting I’d say you’re just pulling my string and “pretending” to be named Xiang. Look I appreciate the links, I really do. But I can’t put you in the alliteration hall of fame cause I can’t alliterate Xiang. Clever people could but I can not. You, sir, have beaten me.

Sorry for the aside, back to Gmail. Gmail is so far performing perfectly, all the good messages got through and it blocked all the spam. plus Google folks have a sense of humor, if your spam area is empty it says “Hooray, No Spam here” To me, humor counts for a lot. I still prefer OS X mail, cause I love the red circle, but Gmail is by far the best web based mail I have ever seen. For a more complete treatment of Gmail check out Owen’s reply to my earlier post. Yes, the reply was more informative than the original post. Not really a trick when I’m the original poster but Owen still did a nice job.

For those of you interested Ken Jennings is back on Jeopardy and still winning. He’s the forty one day champ and his winnings are way past a million. It’s become a bit too predictable but I keep watching because a) I know it is safe for the kid and b) I don’t want to miss the day he loses. Nothing against Ken, I suppose he’s a really nice guy and all, but I also like to watch the Yankees lose. (Rumor is he wins 74 times and 2.5 million before being dethroned)

Gotta say I think that that is about enough inane Chris Seibold chatter to last a lifetime, hey folks you read at your own risk. So I guess it is time for:

Songfacts
Hey I’m no music buff (they call those people audiophiles) but even I know this song really sucked. (Roger sent in songfacts, I went the extra mile to find commentary on the worst song ever)

From, ahem, Xiang…
Nothing kills better than a little Monty Python Lumberjack song Stuff:
Monty Python’s Dead Parrot sketch It’s a big file, but well worth it.

Game pick:
Name that video game
See the deal with this is that you name the video game from their sounds. Fun for folks who can actually remember the original Pitfall.

And that’s all I’ve got for today, tomorrow and probably the day after that.
