Stellar Phoenix Macintosh 3.0 – Review

Frustrating stability issues, excruciatingly slow media scanning and a clunky, dated interface make this a program one tends to swear at, as opposed to swear by. That’s unfortunate, because in the end it does a pretty decent job of data recovery.

Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro – Review

This past spring I made it a mission of mine to find as many Mac compatible webcams as possible. It hasn’t been easy. They seem to be few and far between. Recently, Logitech released the QuickCam Vision Pro, a Mac only camera, that is one of the best webcams I have tried.
Audiobyte Computer Speakers w/ Amplifier – Review

One never knows what to expect when a company invites evaluation of the product they produce. I suppose they think that, for the money, their product can’t be beat. Well, guess what? There are lots of products out there which can be beat, easily, especially "for the money." I don’t know why some companies even bother putting out a product at all except for the fact that not everyone knows a good "widget" from a bad one. However, in our estimation, the Axiom Audiobyte Computer Speakers will stand with any home or professional speakers in their class.

Ten One Design’s Pogo Stylus – Review

Designed for use with the iTouch, the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G, the stylus permits one to quickly respond to a text message, permitting the user to “type†faster, as it were. The soft foam-like tip on the end doesn’t scratch the surface nor does it bring greasy build up. The package also includes a clip that attaches to the iPhone/iTouch allowing you to have the stylus always there and ready to go. Now, on the surface, it seems like a really good idea with the clip, however, if one places their iPhone in a case, the clip is not going to attach to the unit. So, for those of you who remain case-less, and are in need of additional help in texting, the clip and the stylus may be your answer.
OtterBox Defender for iPhone 3G – Review

There are literally scores of cases for the iPhone 3G out there in the market place. Leather, hard plastic, soft plastic, designed to slip in a pocket or clip on to your belt. They all offer some form of protection for your iPhone 3G. However, if you are really looking to provide some real protection, based upon the environment you use your iPhone in or just the way you interact with your iPhone, then you really do need to check out OtterBox’s Defender series for the iPhone 3G.
BBEdit 9 – Review

At version 9, BBEdit has more goodies than I thought any text editor could ever contain. Of course, I thought the same thing when I began to use versions 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4. As I mentioned in my BBEdit 8 review, I don’t take advantage of many of BBedit’s programming or HTML features. So, when version 9 was announced, I did not plan to evaluate the many new coding-related features. I wanted to sample the major change to BBEdit 9’s searching powers; a non-modal find window. Read the full review here.

Is Psystar Open Computers really cheaper than Apple’s Macs?

The ongoing debacle of Psystar just won’t go away much to Apple’s dismay. Apple tried to do what they prefer to do at first, which is ignore them and hope they’ll self-destruct. Early on that seemed to be the winning move as Psystar changed its location several times, had its capability of ordering through credit cards taken away, and put out its first computers to pretty much universal derision when they turned out to noisier than Obama/McCain supporters on Fox news.

Marware C.E.O. Sleeve for iPhone 3G – Review

When you first get your new iPhone, you want it as is; up close and personal so that you can savor the newness of it. However, within a few days you want to give it some protection because you’re afraid that it will drop out of your shirt or coat pocket. The other end of that is that the sleekness of the iPhone at times makes you feel as though you’re gonna drop it because you’re not really paying attention to it.
