I really like this portable mouse. You just plug in the nano receiver, turn the switch on, and it’s ready to go. It is rather small but I found it comfortable to use without hand or wrist fatigue. Users with large fingers or hands might find that it is a bit too small. I used it with and without mouse pad and found it made virtually no difference with cursor speed or sensitivity.

Habla Espanola? Never mind. The Gmen talk about some of details of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, Guy praises Macs4u.com for their great service regarding his Mac Pro. They dissect the newly released MacBook Pros and talk a bit about some new 2nd generation device that Apples seems to think is SOOOOO important. Some tablet thing or other. We still think it’s just a fad.

Pogue’s iPhone The Missing Manual Fourth edition will answer virtually every question most users will have about the iPhone, thus eliminating both the known unknowns (how do I set up my email) as well as the unknown ones (I didn’t even know the iPhone had voice control for dialing and iPod!).

The MediaShare has no shortage of connectivity options: gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2 ports for connecting other hard drives or printers, and an eSATA port to mirror to another hard drive. We connected to our local network via Ethernet cable, but chose to not add any external hard drives or printers for our initial tests.

Creating screencasts with free tools was, a short while ago, almost impossible. The necessary optimizations an application needs in order to record the screen properly were either not made or bound to a specific web site. In itself nothing bad there, but tools weren’t very flexible either. Using free software still is something where one needs to keep an eye open (performance-wise). The field, however, became much more diverse recently.

Acrobat Pro is a massive application in more ways than one: it’s big, it’s expensive, and it does a whole bunch of things casual users might never realise need doing. It isn’t an application for everyone. But for those who use PDFs routinely will find the $199 upgrade well worth the money. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s surprisingly good and easy to use.

Like the iTunes App Store, the Mac App Store can be browsed by Categories, Featured, or Top Charts. But there’s nothing within the Mac App Store interface that shows which apps are on sale, or have lowered their price. That’s where Store News comes in.

The case secures to the MacBook by a few small clips that clip over the side. Removing it is a little bit of a pain so let’s hope that you don’t have to do that very often. The packaging recommends that you remove it fairly often and clean off the case and the laptop but I think it’s only necessary when you can visibly see debris build up.

Despite our best efforts (we really didn’t try that hard, but we like to pretend we do), this is an extra-long show. Lots of feedback from our Bumpers show and thanks to all who sent one in themselves. We go over at least 1/2 of the Macworld Expo floor. Roman Woznik comes on to talk about bigger or maybe smaller iPhones and how he prepares (tech-wise) for long trips. Lastly, Guy makes an announcement concerning some gear he just bought to solve a certain ongoing problem with the podcast. Hmmm…I wonder what that is.

Adobe Photoshop has been the de facto photography/image editing program for many years. However, for many people, Photoshop is either too expensive, too great of a learning curve, too overwhelming, or any combination of the above. Sometimes, all a photo needs to go from good to great is a little tweaking. Adobe heard the cries, and has developed Adobe Photoshop Express, an app that lets users edit and share images quickly and easily.
