Wacom Bamboo Stylus Duo – Review

The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Duo combines two products in one and is such a simple concept that you wonder why more companies aren’t doing it. It is just as the name implies. One side is a rubber stylus for the iPad and the other side is a ball point pen. Why carry a stylus and a pen when you can just carry both in one tool?

Twist360 – Review

Bracketron’s Twist360 has four spring clips to securely grip the iPad (as well as many other tablets and e-readers). With the device attached, the iPad can be propped up on a table or other flat surface. The 4-inch ring on the back can be adjusted to a comfortable viewing angle. This ring also rotates so that the iPad can be viewed horizontally or vertically. It is encased in silicone so it doesn’t slide and it also serves as a comfortable carrying handle.

Universal Tablet Cup Holder Mount – Review

Bracketron’s tablet mount is a multi-part device that fits into your car’s cup holder. It does a nice job in spite of its complexity. In addition to holding your iPad, there are small compartments underneath for a mobile phone and some pens. Bear in mind that this is a review for iPad users even though the device is described as being universal.

Universal Tablet Headrest Mount – Review

Bracketron provides a clever way to securely mount an iPad (or other tablet) to the headrest of one of the forward seats in your car. A big screen HD TV in the back seat of a car? Well, pretty close! Most car DVD players have fairly small, low resolution screens. The 10 inch iPad retina screen seems gloriously huge and crisp by comparison. Bracketron’s Back-iT solves this problem with a very simple, if fairly expensive, cover for the iPad’s back.

Adobe launched Photoshop Touch last year for the Android platform and Photoshop Touch is now available for the iPad. It is compatible with the iPad 2 and New iPad but the iPad 1 is not supported. As an image editor Adobe included several terrific features gleaned from Photoshop that are not currently found in other photo-editing apps.

On the State of Chinese Manufacturing Conditions

A big, dirty cloud of dust has been kicked up concerning Apple, manufacturing in China, and Chinese labor practices. Mike Daisey’s NPR misinformation in January helped fuel the fire. I feel compelled to chime in on this subject because as a product development specialist and designer, my career has been spent working directly inside factories in Europe and Asia. During the past couple of decades I’ve worked almost exclusively with manufacturers all over China.
