Amazon is on FIRE!

The iPad currently pretty much sits alone on top of the tablet market. Sure there’s been lots of, ‘HEY! Look at ME! I’M a tablet TOO!’ contenders, mostly running some version of Google’s Android version 3.x OS, but they’ve hardly been much of a threat for a variety of reasons. Oh I’ll get to those reasons in a bit, but for the most part they’ve been like those guys you see outside popular nightclubs with the Mr. T-like bouncer glaring at them menacingly every time they step too close to the velvet rope separating the haves from the have-nots.

Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform that is used to create vector animation and interactivity to a web page. Flash Catalyst CS5.5 is an exciting application for you to create interactive elements on a web page without writing code. I have to admit I was skeptical. Adding Flash animations has been intimidating at best, as I am not a web developer nor do I write code. Flash Catalyst allows you to import an Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or an Adobe Fireworks file to use for your animation. Adobe has made Flash Catalyst a robust, yet easy to use, Flash experience for new and experienced web designers.  As I decided to use an Adobe Illustrator CS5 file to import into Flash Catalyst for my animation, let’s discuss what is new in this software.

Five iPad and iPad 2 Books from Wiley – Book Review

All five of these how-to books from Wiley Publishing cover the iPad and iPad 2. The information presented does not vary much from one book to another, but the writing styles and book designs do. iPad2 Fully Loaded by Alan Hess was my favorite in this batch because of the clear, straightforward language, the compact design, the helpful boxed tips liberally scattered throughout the book, and a comprehensive index.

The developer has the user in mind and has allowed customization of not only which song elements can be used but also the associated text you would like spoken around these elements.
