Bush: American Security is job #1!

So Israel is spying on us, gets caught, and the lead on most news programs is the protesting at the GOP convention. While I agree that protesting the GOP convention is a fine thing, is it really the top news story?

Bush lauds his security credentials is another top news story. He does not mention the apparent security problems in the Pentagon.

Bush spoke of the invasion of Iraq in a campaign stop in Ohio, saying, “Even though we didn’t find the stockpiles we expected to find, Saddam Hussein had the capability to make weapons of mass destruction, and he could have passed that on to the enemy,” he said. “Knowing what I know today, I would have made the same decision.”

So does Canada. Watch out, Bailey!

Back to the protestors at the GOP convention in New York this week. What do the protestors hope to accomplish? Protesting is our right, yes, but how does coming across as a bunch of zealots help the Democrats and Senator John Kerry any? When was the last time a protest, ANY protest, helped “the” cause? In the last decade, that is. Do the protestors really thing Bush Co. will think “Wow, we must be doing something wrong, what with all these people protesting. We had better revisit our policies.” Or do they think there efforts will actually change somebody’s mind on who to vote for?
