MyMac Podcast 627: Taking Stock

Lots of little things that Apple seems to be doing wrong. Nothing major, but it’s enough to show there could be a problem. Guy and Gaz take a break from praising to wondering what the heck is going on? Also because there was no after show last week, this week it’s probably too long. Oh well.

MyMac Podcast 626: Future Apple

Gaz and Guy wax poetically about the future of Apple hardware and probably have it all wrong. This has never stopped them in the past so why should this show be any different? Guy also has audio volume issues and is not happy, but again why should this show be any different?

LifeActiv Belt Clip with Quickmount – Review

The LifeActiv quickmount and belt clip enables users to carry a smartphone attached to their belt or a backpack. The catch is that the gadget is a two-piece solution. The mount is an adhesive-backed square that must be attached to your phone’s case. It does not adhere to rubber and certain other materials. I had to remove the outer bumper on my OtterBox case and attach the mount to the plastic frame underneath.

MS02 and Rain3 In-Ear Stereo Earphones – Review

My first impressions of the sound of the thinksound MS02 and Rain3 earphones (in-ear monitors, or IEM) are based on comparisons to other IEM (Sennheiser IE800, RHA T20, B&O H3), to a few reference headphones, and to notes I’ve accumulated from many prior reviews. I’ll describe how I relate to these IEM (i.e. my personal tastes and how I use these earphones) only after covering all of the objective issues.

I Was Wrong About Bob Dylan – Nemo Memo

I was a huge fan of Bob Dylan’s music from 1963-1970. I didn’t listen to many of Bob’s songs or albums during the following decades, with the exception of his CDs Good As I Been To You and World Gone Wrong from the early 1990s. Good As I Been To You is a raw and raunchy roots music retrospective, and is the better of the pair.

My first impressions of the sound of the thinksound On2 headphones (On2 hereafter) are based on direct comparisons to other headphones, particularly those that resemble its design (mid-size portable), and also to a few premium headphones for reference. I’ll describe how I relate to the On2 (i.e., my personal tastes and how I use the headphone) after covering all of the objective issues.
