Stupid Quota On The Rise

Throughout the whole history of Man, stupidity has always been a factor in every era and in every place Man has lived. Nobody has a corner on the market for stupidity. However, lately in America, the stupidity quota seems to be on the rise.

You can see this just by my naming a few names of people and companies. Microsoft, anyone? SCO ring a bell? How about WorldCom, or Enron? Does Martha Stewart come to mind (either the company or the person) How about Michael Eisner? Janet Jackson? Michael Jackson? J-Lo and friends? Brittany and friends, Madonna and friends – the list today seems endless.

(Don’t even WMD get 9/11 me Taiban started Saddam on Bush politics Dean and Kerry politicians!)

Stupidity is basically defined as an act that brings harm to others while not benefiting the person who causes the harm. Obviously there are myriad variations to this theme, from stupid criminals and wannabe criminals, to politicians, despots and crooks in every walk of life. People who practice violence tend to stupidity as well, with their out of control rage and unthinking acts of hatred. And why is it such a little known fact that all criminals are stupid?

Some people are just innocently stupid, aren’t they? People who are thoughtless with their words, or who try to play harmless practical jokes, which are neither practical or funny.

Married people, for some reason, lose their intelligence when they get hitched, as their astonished and perplexed mates can readily testify. That wonderful, witty and intelligent person you married is now the dimbulb of the world, right?

Here at MyMac, the quota for stupidity is very low (knock on wood!) – present company excluded. I have slowly grown aware that I have been filling my share of the stupidity quota in some of my blogs and posts, bringing harm, or a bit of anger or grief, to my fellow writers here. Certainly this is unintended on my part, but stupid is as stupid does, right?

I am sure you can add something to all of this, by way of an intelligent comment. Please feel free to blog about your encounter with stupidity here.

Regards,
Roger
