I often wonder “Is anyone reading this?” Then I realize that I don’t care. Really. I know I have a few friends who peruse the blog and Tim might glance in on occaision just to make sure I’m not linking to/posting pornography and that’s enough for me. Well it usually is… but not today.
Today I need a reader, a reader named Vern. See I have been working dilligently on a desk and Vern is a woodworker (me, I don’t work wood so much as create kindling. Unfortunately I have a natural gas fireplace) So Vern, if you’re out there, e-mail me.
Which brings us to the question of just what is enough. I have been pining away for a dual proc G5, but let’s face it I don’t need it. I am also lusting for a G4 powerbook. My rationale: Then I wouldn’t need the upgraded G4 in the basement. So if a G4 powerbook will give me adequate computing performance why am I thinking about a G5? I don’t know. I’m obviously satisfied with the performance of the G4, I suppose it’s the need to have shiny newness.
I suppose it’s nothing new to yearn for things you don’t need. But this is a hard urge to beat back… In the end I’ll buy a new Mac. I’ll love it’s uneeded ass and soon enough I’ll be buying a G6…
