On Animal Absurdities: The Chinese are tattooing pigs and the Hollywood elite are arranging marraiges between Golden Retrievers and Chihuahuas. Who says culture is dead?
Speaking of Culture: John Farr’s Buffalo Lights is now available in paperback. For those readers who enjoy John’s work, but don’t have the attention span to sit in front of a computer to read for more than three minutes, this is a welcome addition to any library. I ordered my copy from the link above and can recommend Booklocker as a reliable vendor.
On the Military: A young man I know is in the National Guard. Several months ago he was informed he no longer needed to attend his weekly training sessions. He is now planning a vacation overseas, so he contacted his Guard unit to let them know of his plans. Imagine his surprise, and theirs, when they searched his records only to find they thought he’d been deployed to Iraq! He was informed it would take a while to sort things out, but as he says, “That’s the Military!”
Speaking of the Military: I finally got a magnetic ribbon for my car. It reads, “We support the Chinese Magnetic Ribbon Industry.”
On Lance Armstrong: Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t, but it’s too late now to do anything about it. The big question on my mind, and other people’s as well, is “Why release the information now, if they, as they claim, have had it for more than a year.” My answer is the simple answer, Tour de France revenue. I think many Americans would not have spent their hard earned dollars for three weeks in France in July if Lance had been prevented from riding in this year’s tour. So, just wait until the tour is over, THEN besmirch his name. Oui?
Speaking of Lance Armstrong: I still have great regard for him, on and off the bike.
On the Tridiot Rating: For my money, it is still the most reliable indicator of the quality of blog content, and has been on hiatus for much too long now. (coff chrisseiboldneedstopostmoreblogentries coff)
Speaking of the Tridiot Rating: Easily a whopping 121% for today’s content, except for the part about John Farr’s book, which is not even remotely Tridiot.
