It’s the political season, much like going to Church on Easter or Christmas, stuff most people usually don’t care about has become interesting. Everyone has an opinion and the few folks who haven’t quite made up their minds yet (or made up their minds years ago) are being wooed.
Well I haven’t made up my mind (make the check out to cks), I don’t even have a strong leaning. The choice to me is like being offered peas or monkey brains for dinner, I’d rather go hungry. Worse yet, I honestly don’t care. Yeah, it’s important yadda, yadda, yadda. Whatever. It’s not presented in an interesting manner.
But anyone can mindlessly bitch and moan, it takes a thinker to come up with an improvement. I propose we completely revamp the election process. Face the music: standing in lines to vote months after you decided who to vote for is so inefficient…and boring. I don’t want to do it, you don’t want to do it, we do it it out of a sense of civic duty. like mowing the lawn. I propose we say: NO!
I say we make politics entertaining. Here’s the plan: The Republicans and Democrats (not that I can tell a difference) get seven nominees each. We mix in two independent options and do the whole thing on TV Apprentice style. Each week the teams would be given a task, say kill Osama Bin Laden (Kerry would have a leg up here, while GWB was protecting us from Mexican invasion Kerry was shooting folks) or cut taxes (GWB has the advantage, proven tax reliever). Anyway a camera would follow the folks around and at the end of each week someone would get voted off (via internet). Finally, after fifteen weeks the Chief Justice of the Supreme court would show up and say: “You’re elected” and we have our President four the next four years. Very exciting,
Or not.
All important BL/CKS tridiot rating: like a million or so, give or take, who’s to say?
