When I first started this blog thing my goal was to provide insightful mac related analysis on a daily basis. That soon became untenable, because writing about the computer world every day was far too boring. Then I decided to copy Chris Null’s blog style and post interesting tidbits I found around the web. That proved to be much more amusing.
I started following Chris’ blog way back when I reviewed Half Mast (I think it’s sold out so I’ll give away the surprise ending: Alex was bitten by a radioactive lead soldier.. Shocked me too). It’s a blog I enjoy and the place I rip off some of the better links I post. In fact let’s skate the fine line between being simply derivitive and all out aping. Let’s play Chris Null’s new fave: Separated at birth!
Separated at birth:
Filmcritic guy Chris Null
And Geek Cook Alton Brown?
Hmmm, that’s like Chang and Eng I tells ya, now I can’t get all time fave movie #22 out of my head, Damn you Dead Ringers!
Ahhhh, amusing. Back to the topic at hand. I send Chris a few grand every month as a retainer and in return he answers all of the stupid movie questions I have (was Plan 9 From Outer Space a metaphor for the cold war? Yahoo Serious, misunderstood genius or hopeless hack? Why didn’t Chairman of the Board sweep the Oscars?), Still tangential, damn I gotta throttle back on the ether.
What I’ve been trying to get at is a note about Chris’ new site, the utterly strange peoplefallingover.com. It’s an entire website devoted (apparently) to people falling over. Not the broadest market in the world. I’m not saying that I don’t wake up some mornings and think “Man, I’d like to see someone fall over” cause, like everyone else, I do. I’m just wondering where you’re going to get the requisite material. Sure Chris is nailing it for now but sooner or later people experiencing drastic loss of equilibrium is going to go through a dry spell and with a name like “peoplefallingover” where do you go? Maybe Chris will just go out and trip somebody or pass out jello shooters at a nearby park. I’m not sure, In any event PFO is pretty funny for now.
I suppose that’s too much Chris Seibold for now so on to today’s links of diversion:
Fight Club (never saw it) explained.
Game pick: Alien Abduction
And now three music links:
From Eric Idle: Well I can’t tell you the title. Tim’s rules and all but it sounds a lot like Thank You Very Much FCC. With more F’s and U’s and less T’s H’s and AN’s. I wouldn’t listen to it at work unless you’re working for the DNC. Oh, the link: — you very much
One of my fave artists is Beck but I’d never seen a Beck video until I saw this: Devil’s Haircut Pretty good stuff
I linked to this yesterday but I’m linking to it again. See my 20 month old saw it today and had to watch it fifty times. The first twenty times were okay, the next fifteen were unpleasant but tolerable, the five after that were painful and the last ten caused odd hallucinations and hives. Strange. Try it for yourself
Finally time for the CKS/BL Tridiot rating:
