Now, this is an addictive Toy!

Well folks, some time ago, I wrote about how much I loved Tinker Toys, and how I was glad as heck to learn they are still being made by the Hasbro company. Today, I discovered a toy which is even more addictive, and tons of fun.

This is called “Supermag Magnetic Genius”, and it is made by an outfit called Plastwood. A link: http://www.plastwood.com/index_main.html.

What it consists of, is steel ball bearings, about 0.5″ in diameter, and two sizes of powerful N-S magnets, encased in plastic. The plastic tubes are manufactured so that at no point, is there any metal on metal contact.
The magnets are powerful, and have great holding energy. So, with these, and the ball bearings, you can sit in the living and just go totally nuts. Several sizes of this are available. I bought the one with 24 pieces. I see myself buying more in the future though.

Make something. Make nothing. Just let your mind go with it. Be forwarned, this toy is damned addictive. If you are a married kind of guy, don’t be surprised if you suddenley look up and see your loving spouse, with the veins in her forehead pulsating, and baring her teeth as she might when you channel surf. (I’m single, but this is what married guys tell me, thus reaffirming my desire to remain single.)

I bought mine at a puzzle-games-hobby shop. I’m going to guess that Walmart and Toys R us don’t sell this item, because:

-No batteries are needed.
-The things are so well made, I believe they’ll last decades.
-This product has no tie-in to any TV show or movie.
-This is clearly a toy for “thinkers” of any age from 3 on up.
