Macworld Expo -Catching our breath at Moscone Center

Subdued conversation in several languages drifts across the Media Center. Tip tap typing from Power Mac towers with flat monitors, provided to members of the press, plus laptops brought by umpteen reporters.

Checking email and web sites for the latest PR announcements. Making sure our initial postings are live at MyMac.com. Thanks, Tim.

Exhibitors’ dash in and out of the South and North Halls, setting up their booths and looking frantic. We ran into two members of the acclaimed WiebeTech family company on the plane and again in Moscone.

Bumped into colleague David Casseres at entry of Media Room. Very excited to see him again and introduce him to the “other” David (Weeks). Made plans to track down Casseres prior to and after tomorrow’s keynote address.

Tried reaching MyMac.com pal Roger Born via cell phone, after seeing his photos from earlier in the day. Where are you, Roger?

Feeling exceptionally glad to have my own iBook with AirPort card for the first time ever, and a cellular phone of my own, and an iPod, and an outstanding Casio digital camera! All will come in VERY handy during our coverage of the Expo and Conference.

Just finished our first private PR meeting with the CEO of Solio, an innovative new company. See David Weeks’ summary, to be published tomorrow.

Sushi tonight, perhaps, on Geary Boulevard, then a good night’s rest before a long and exciting day Tuesday.
