Some of the best things I saw at the show in no special order:
1. Elgato Eye TV 500 – HD PVR for the Mac. It suffers a little because it needs a lot of computer and graphic card power to display HD images perfectly, however, it is still amazing that I can watch HD TV on my PowerBook. I bought one.
2. Epson had a WiFi wireless projector.
3. Canon had a spectacular high resolution projector. In my dreams.
4. Keynote 2. Seems to solve a lot of the issues many of us had with version 1.
5. Mac Mini – basically great. I wish it was easier to change the graphics card. For some people it will be fine as is.
6. DeltaGraph – Under new management. Runs very nice now in OS X. I used it in OS 9. I bought it this week for OS X. They had a $100 discount and I got a T-shirt.
7. Shure head phones. I like the E3C. For me it is a compromise of price and features. I’m a little concerned about comfort after long hours of use.
8. Altec Lansing – I really liked the XT1 speakers for PowerBooks. Just enough for traveling.
9. The special interest area in the back corner was nice. It was good to meet the people there.
10. iPod shuffle – seems great. I don’t think it could stand on its own, but as an accessory to an iTunes library on a Mac it works. When I was commuting to work by train this would have been perfect.
