Mac Robots In 2012?

I see that in an annoucement by Toyota, they will be selling household robots by 2010.

It occurs to me that Apple could make some excellent robots too. Perhaps in 2012 we will begin to see some. ***

Robots do not have operating systems per se. These things are hardwired and the ‘operating’ system is not generally accessible to the owner. However, work modules can be added to give the devices added funtionality.

Toyota is making robots that will assist the elderly and shutins, as well as ‘serve tea’ to guests.

I would prefer a household robot that would do the dishes, sweep, take out the trash and perhaps cook. Of course, then my wife would probably consider me to be a redundant component in the house, so perhaps I will wait to buy her one of these.

What do you think an Apple brand household robot should do for you?

How much would you pay for it?

Would you consider ever buying one from Micro$oft?

*** of course, Mulder figured out that 2012 is the year the aliens take over the governments of earth, so maybe that is not a good year to buy a robot, or anything else… =)
