The motto of the United States Postal Service says something along the lines of “Neither snow, nor rain, nor the gloom of night shall stay these couriers from their appointed rounds”. All good and fine. Personally, I think the postal service does a fine job, often working under hard contidions.
The motto does not mention anything about projectiles such as bullets, and that is what is going to keep postal workers from delivering mail to Boston’s infamous Bromley-Heath housing project. (Think along the lines of Chicago’s Cabrini Green, only smaller)
Yep, it seems that postal workers are in fear of their lives every time they go near the place. Personally, I don’t blame them.
Solutions? Oh, civic and political leaders are making the usual noise, but soon enough, it will be back to business as usual.
By all means, have a read.
