“Is this for you Martin?”

The other day I was making Kraft brand Macaroni and cheese. The orange gooey stuff is a big hit with my kid. After all who doesn’t enjoy reconstituted powdered cheese? Anyway while whipping up the dish I noticed the box contained a postcard of SpongeBob square pants. On a lark I cut out the post card, scribbled some non sensical inside remarks on it and mailed the freebie to Martin at work. I figured it would end up in his mailbox and we’d both get a good chuckle.

I was wrong. I later learned that Martin didn’t have a mailbox, all his communication is done via Sales Rep and e-mail. My postcard had, in fact, made to Martin via a very confused human resouces department employee. I became aware of all this information right after Martin asked me if I was trying to get him fired. I felt horrible.

Poor Martin likes his job, he’s really good at it and the hours are sweet. So jeopardizing his job was tatamount to endangering his happiness. On the other hand, I had a whole slew of new information. I knew, for example, that someone from human resouces would deliver the message. I also knew that she would read the message on the card, after all if she hadn’t read the earlier cryptic message why would she wonder if it was Martin’s?

So now I have a dilemna, I have all this great information I could use for lots of great jokes but by using said info I may risk my pals job. But I doubt his job is really in any danger, he’s that good at it. Heck they couldn’t stand to lose him.

Anyway I sent three more cards. The first one said: Project Z progressing nicely, e-mail update impossible, looks like a winner.

Text for the second card reads: Success. We will be very rich shortly.

Text for the last card reads: When are you going to tell human resouces these are just gag so they’ll have to trudge all the way to your office?”

So the delivery person will probably be hot at Martin but in revealing her anger she will reveal that she’s been reading the front side of the card. Martin, who will be ignorant of the entire thing will probably get a good tongue lashing without knowing why. And me, I’ll just leave the phone off the hook for awhile. The cards should arrive daily starting tomorrow.

I’ve heard great things about GarageBand, heck mymac held a contest, but did you know Windows machines have full Garageband capability straight out of the box? Sure it’s a little more work but you should check it out
