Today I started trying out pages. A demo disk came with my copy of Tiger and I had never got around to installing the thing and checking out Apple’s word processor. Pages is fine, I think I will stick with Word for now but I could use pages if forced (honestly I miss the word count feature and the Flesch-Kincaid stuff).
The really troubling thing about Pages is that it looks like nothing else on my computer. Now don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy OS X but could they pick one look and stick with it? Mail looks unlike anything else though it could look like a finder window. Pages looks all together different than, say, Safari. In short the whole thing looks thrown together.
So here’s my hope for Leopard or 10.4.2 or 10.4.1b, basically ASAP. Please add some consistency. I understand that it is not always possible but isn’t the wood look in garageband not only ugly but gratuitous? I’ve got no problem with adopting a new look but why can’t it be system wide?
In fact the whole thing has left me too depressed to post links.
