Defective iMac G5 I’m very disappointed

Barbara was pleased to have, finally, her first *new* computer, and I was delighted to be able to give it to her as a present.

But the Energy Saver automatic Sleep feature didn’t work properly, even after some heavy-duty troubleshooting, and, worse, a constant buzzing noise was driving us crazy.

I had chosen Amazon.com for the purchase, with their generous 30-day return policy, never thinking I’d actually need to use it. The online return acceptance for defective computers is straightforward, and UPS will pick up the unfortunate iMac this week.

An old, reliable Pismo G3 PowerBook will suffice in the meantime, and I’m currently loading all her preferred software and active files onto it.

I’m frustrated that the iMac G5 was less than perfect, but we’re glad she can continue to have her own Mac running Panther.
