Casio’s EXILIM Z-50 camera is *still* excellent!

Last month we published my review of Casio’s tiny, high-quality EXILIM Z-50 digital still camera. The URL is: <https://www.mymac.com/showarticle.php?id=1852>.

I used this terrific camera every day before, during, and after the recent Macworld Expo in San Francisco. You can see all the photos from that event from links on my personal MyMac.com archive page: <https://www.mymac.com/nemo>.

EXILIM Z-50 remains my favorite digital still camera, and I’m tempted to claim that the company will have to pry it from my cold, dead hands in order to have it back in Casioland. That’s a bit of an overstatement, since they have recently released upgrades throughout the entire EXILIM product lineup, and MyMac.com will gladly review their cameras whenever possible.

Looking at my original review, I see areas where greater detail could help a potential buyer. Having used Z-50 for over a month, nearly every photo was excellent or very good, taken under an enormous range of lighting and focusing conditions.

MyMac.com thanks Casio for allowing us to use Z-50 during our Macworld 2005 San Francisco coverage. At least a hundred times during the past month, including dozens in San Francisco, people were amazed at the small size of the camera, modest retail price, and high resolution of its LCD screen. Every person had heard of Casio, but not one knew of their marvelous midgets.

My personal thanks to our friends at Casio. You helped us achieve photographic success. Our standards are now very high.
