Today I got this nifty e-mail:
Subject: Kathy Gifford sweatshop Jokes are old
not very professional and irrelevent jab at someone else’s expense.
I felt like a freeze dried VCR manual (instant confusion, just add water). The mail was obviously not spam but it had no bearing on any part of my life. I began to rack my brains, took a nap, pondered the meaning of life and went to delete the thing when it hit me. Someone was offended by a throw away line from the little viewed GL2 Review/BigFoot Murder video. To say that i was shocked that someone watched the video would not be and understatement. If you further imagined that I was draw droppingly astounded that someone would send a letter about one tiny unfunny joke in a long, long video you would be correct.
But I love all my mail, particularly angry mail about obscure topics (though nearly any note will net a reply so I wrote back:
Indeed. Though you should be heartened by the fact that out of the roughly seven people who saw video you were the only one who either:
A) Got the joke
-OR-
B) Was offended by the joke
as for the professionalism of the video I’ll note that it wasn’t professionally done nor was it intended to have the air of professionalism. Face facts, to get something as professional as, say, The Dukes of Hazard one needs a budget substantially larger than the one I have for the videos (zero).
My deepest, abject apologies for any offense you have taken. I have ordered the owner of the website to offer you triple your money back.
Chris
