A Myriad of Things

Menopause has galloped back into my life in a big way, with hot flashes and night sweats dominating the personal weather scene. OK, fine, you don’t want to talk about menopause, no problem, since most of you readers are guys. However, if you don’t remember your own mother making your life a living hell during her time, you do have something to look forward to with your spouse. Remember these words. Put an extra blanket on your side of the bed. (I’ve been running the fan at night in the bedroom since February.)

I’ve got my 1986 Toyota Cressida for sale. Selling a car that old, with 236,231 actual miles is a real pain. It’s a sweet little car though and I’ve poured a bundle of money into it. Everything works, all the oil leaks are fixed, it has a new timing belt, a new starter, and a new battery. It needs an antenna is all. Hopefully it’ll sell. I guess it’s got at least another 60,000 miles in it. I’ve qualified for a decent loan at a 4.75% interest rate and even though I hate getting into a car payment again I figure I’d just spend the money on something else so why not.

I still miss my dog but not as much as I did a month ago. She had the most beautiful, silky ears and I miss the calmness that stroking them would bring. My little dog Lucie is not as lively as she used to be, either. I know she misses her too. Last Saturday I was at the local Petco buying the EXPENSIVE dog food for Lucie Mighty Dog, because now we’re spoiling her rotten. As I exited the store to walk back to my car, the local animal shelter ladies were uncrating a couple of dogs for pet adoption day. Wouldn’t you know, there was one dog that looked exactly like Oreo, except he had more black on him than she did. Sammy was a lively three year old male that jumped right up on me and started licking my face. He even had the silky ears. That was a hard one to walk away from.

Three day weekend coming up. WooHoo! I predict a picnic by the River. No potato salad though, I’m still low-carbing. Speaking of which, I managed to get back into one of my favorite mini-skirts again. Here’s a scary thought for you guys, menopausal woman in mini-skirt!!!!! Run Away!

Stealing a trick from CKS, here’s a game pick. A Case of the Crabs I haven’t got very far in it yet so don’t write to me for hints. If you need hints, email Chris Seibold and just keep emailing him until he responds. You might have to email him forty or fifty times every five minutes but that’s OK.

TeeVee pick is still the Giro d’Italia. There’s been some great bike racing the past two and a half weeks with some very talented young bike riders emerging on the scene. And of course Thursday nights is The Lance Chronicles, The Road to the Tour, and a featured bike race. OLN. Watch it. Mmmm….mmmm…..good.

President Todd’s campaign is moving along nicely here in sunny southern Utah. Everyone at the local Eagle’s club has promised to vote for him. (Todd, don’t forget that *cough* case of JD *cough* you were sending along.)

The weather here is nice. That’s about all I can say about it.

Tridiot Rating: 118.75943 That’s what Univac says, anyhow. Now, I can’t type a href etc., etc., any more, it’s someone else’s turn.

Stay tuned.
