Macspiration Basics: Rename a file

macspirationbasics

Have you ever wanted to change the name of a file on your Mac? Maybe it is a screenshot and you want to remove the generic name to a name that helps you identify the file better. Renaming a file on your Mac couldn’t be easier.

To rename a file click the name of the file itself, not the icon symbol. It will turn a dark shade of blue, or whatever is your highlight color. Press return on the keyboard. The name will become colored and you can then edit the name, type over it, etc. When you are finished press the return key. Done!

Like I said, it couldn’t be easier, and I don’t think this article could be much shorter!
