When you first get your new iPhone, you want it as is; up close and personal so that you can savor the newness of it. However, within a few days you want to give it some protection because you’re afraid that it will drop out of your shirt or coat pocket. The other end of that is that the sleekness of the iPhone at times makes you feel as though you’re gonna drop it because you’re not really paying attention to it.

Enter Marware, a producer of accessories for your iPod, iTouch and iPhone. They immediately jumped into the fray for iPhone 3G users with their line of cases tooled for the new product. The Marware C.E.O. Sleeve is a nifty leather case with its opening at the top, stretch material on the sides that permit you to easily slide your iPhone 3G in and out with no problems. The case also comes with a slide-on clip that enables you to clip the case to your belt or pants to permit easy access. Not to be forgotten is the clear plastic film face plate cover that permits you to clean off your iPhone touch screen, carefully peel and cover the touch screen that does away with the finger greasy build up that everyone comes to hate right away. Marware also provides the handy micro fiber cleaner cloth that lets you keep your iPhone looking great.

As with most cases, the first thing that you discover is that it’s probably better to insert your iPhone top down so that you don’t inadvertently lower the ringer volume as I kept doing for the first few days or so. Maybe it’s just being old fashioned but I found myself inserting the iPhone touch screen in towards the body as I viewed it as providing a bit more protection to the touch screen.

The case sits in place and doesn’t move around on the belt. In a vertical orientation, the iPhone comes into your hand in a more natural movement than would a horizontal placement, at least from my take on utilizing the case. Made of Nappa leather, the case provides a solid and secure structure to place your iPhone inside of to provide the max protection while still allowing you to have the iPhone without any other attachments. The stretch material on the sides of the case allows enough flexibility to move the iPhone in and out and yet keep the phone inside.

If you are looking for an iPhone case that easily permits you to slide your iPhone in and out and yet provides a very good level of protection, check out Marware’s C.E.O. Sleeve. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

So to review:

Pro: Easy to use, good looking iPhone case. Leather composition provides a good solid feel to the case, case is in close to the body.

Cons: The only minor problem that I had was sliding the clip onto the back of the case. It took a minute or two to seep into the brain that you have to separate the movable section from the non-moving part of the clip by inserting your finger between the two sections and then slide the non-movable section into the clip holder on the case itself.

Highly recommended!
