BeBox Windows 1.2 BeBox Cursor

Shareware: $5.00

BeBox Windows 1.2 from Erik Wrenholt (Same guy above!) is a extension that will make your Mac look like a BeBox computer. (See the July issue of My Mac, The BeBox, by Brian Koponen for more on the BeBox computer.) The effects are a nice change from either a Windows or Macintosh style window, and pleasant to work with.

Unlike Erik’s WindowsDEF 1.2, however, BeBox Windows 1.2 is a system extension, thus you have no options to change colors and such. You can, like Erik’s WindowsDEF 1.2, hold down the CAPS-LOCK key to temporarily kill the BeBox windows effect.

BeBox Cursor also comes with BeBox Windows, but is a free program. BeBox Cursor is also a system extension, which will make your on screen cursor look like a little hand pointing, just like in the picture shown. Neat.

Now, as I myself have never seen a “real” BeBox computer, I cannot tell you how close or real the effects are. But my guess is that BeBox Windows and Cursor looks just like it.

So for your $5.00 shareware fee, you really get both these system extensions. Yes, BeBox Cursor is free, but they both come together, so I see them as one program:-)
Well worth the $5.00 if you like the effect and use it often.
