The Lowepro Pro Messenger AW series are camera shoulder bags. They are suitable for traveling light or for small photography assignments. They store a minimum of equipment, but just enough for this kind of photo shoot. Like many photographers, I am a bag freak and I am glad I had the chance to review the 160AW model.

About Steve Hammond

Steve is a computer geek, and he has been for many years. He has studied computer science for 15 years, with a college degree in computer science, a backchelor degree in computer with a minor in mathematics, and a Master degree in computer science. In high school he was initiated to computer on an Apple II, then his parents bought him a Commodore 64, then a Mac Plus. But in computer science, DOS and Windows PC were used mostly, so he switched to the dark side for a while. In 2000 he began doing some photography, then discovered iPhoto which make him come back to the Macintosh in 2002. Since, he became a Mac geek again and he sure won't turn back to the PC.

When I looked at the pocketBar shoulder bag on the Urban Tool web site, my first thought was that it was not the most attractive bag I’ve ever seen. When it arrived at my door a few weeks later, my opinion did not change. However, the pocketBar is growing on me—it’s really quite useful.

Many of us leave the house each day with a backpack or pocketbook filled with our iPhone, iPod, flash drive, digital camera, SD cards, wallets, keys—you get the idea. When we need one of those devices, we dig through the bag until we find what we’re looking for. If it was the camera, that perfect photographic opportunity may have passed. This is where the pocketBar comes in.
