Two Incase iPad Cases
Review

On December 16, 2010, in Cases, Features, iPad, Review, Stand, by John Nemerovski

Guest review by Howard Nemerovski

Travel Kit Plus
Incase
$59.95

Reasonably priced at $59.95, the soft but sturdy Incase Travel Kit Plus provides a faux-fur lined, separate zippered external drop-in pocket for the iPad. The main case unzips and opens like a book, displaying two large, zippered internal pockets, a third deeper pocket, closed with a full-width Velcro flap for the keyboard referred to below, and a pair of elastic straps suitable to secure cables.

The large pockets are designed to hold papers and personal items, plus a variety of iPad accessories, including a charger, a USB drive, earbuds, an Apple Wireless Keyboard, and a stand for the iPad with a charger cord management tab. (The stand is included at no additional cost).

Review – Eco-Envi + for iPad

On December 10, 2010, in Cases, iPad, Review, by Russ Walkowich

Eco-Envi + for iPad
Company: Marware
Price: $69.99 USD

Just in case you haven’t noticed, Apple’s iPad is appearing everywhere. Classrooms, stores, and more importantly, in business offices. Now since the iPad has been around for the past several months, cases of every design are everywhere. The question is what do you put your iPad in if you are going to be taking it to the office with you?

Might I suggest that you consider Marware’s Eco-Envi + for the iPad. First, the Eco-Envi + consists of two items; a clear polycarbonate MicroShell that covers the back of your iPad and a high-grain eco-leather case with a fleece interior to baby your iPad when you place it inside. With or without the polycarbonate rear shell, your iPad slips into the case like a hand into a brand new glove. After several weeks of use, the iPad continues to go into the case with really no expansion of the leather so there is very little chance that your iPad would accidentally slip out if you turned the case upside down. I have turned my case upside down and the iPad has not moved at all. The flap on the case keeps the iPad inside and the dirt/dust outside.

Marware SportShell Convertible Review

On October 20, 2010, in Features, iPad, by Rich Lefko

SportShell Convertible
Company: Marware
Price: $59.99 USD

There will soon be a bazillion (is that a real number?) cases for the iPad. Choosing the “best” one can become something of an exercise in futility as they all offer some feature twist the other ones don’t. The case, or cases, you ultimately select will be based on your own need, or how and where you intend to use your iPad.

If you’ve just purchased a new iPhone 3G and you’re considering a case, you may just want to wander on over to Mareware’s website and take a look at the new Sidewinder Deluxe for the iPhone 3G.

If you’re like most people, you have a tendency to forget where you left your earphones for your iPhone, at least I know that I have. Marware’s Sidewinder Deluxe solves that problem for you by including a retractable side arm that you can wrap your earphones around and carry it with you wherever you go. Sporty and light, you just take your iPhone and place it into Marware’s Flexi-Shell case, then just snap it into the black plastic holster, place it on your belt with the clip and go.

Marware C.E.O. FlipVue for iPhone 3G – Review

Marware C.E.O. FlipVue for iPhone 3G
Company: Marware

Price: $29.99 USD

Marware has more than one iPhone case up its sleeve. Marware’s C.E.O. FlipVue is a another well designed leather case for your iPhone 3G that you might want to consider taking a look at for daily use. Marware had already produced a version for the original iPhone that was previously reviewed by David Weeks and since the arrival of the iPhone 3G, a newer model appeared on the scene.

Just as with Marware’s C.E.O. Sleeve, the FlipVue is made of Nappa leather that provides a holster-type case that you slip your iPhone into and the flap comes down and is held in place by two small sections of velcro and provides cover over the front of your iPhone. The side elastic also provides the grip to hold your phone in place besides the drop down flap. In appearance, both the Marware C.E.O. Sleeve and the FlipVue are identical, with the FlipVue having the flap to cover the front of your iPhone. In the previous version for the original iPhone, there were apparently some complaints of accessibility to iPhone items that Marware has taken care of in this version. Your earphone mini-jack, speaker, volume control, mike and dock connector are all readily accessible.

Marware C.E.O. Sleeve for iPhone 3G – Review

When you first get your new iPhone, you want it as is; up close and personal so that you can savor the newness of it. However, within a few days you want to give it some protection because you’re afraid that it will drop out of your shirt or coat pocket. The other end of that is that the sleekness of the iPhone at times makes you feel as though you’re gonna drop it because you’re not really paying attention to it.

Enter Marware, a producer of accessories for your iPod, iTouch and iPhone. They immediately jumped into the fray for iPhone 3G users with their line of cases tooled for the new product. The Marware C.E.O. Sleeve is a nifty leather case with its opening at the top, stretch material on the sides that permit you to easily slide your iPhone 3G in and out with no problems. The case also comes with a slide-on clip that enables you to clip the case to your belt or pants to permit easy access. Not to be forgotten is the clear plastic film face plate cover that permits you to clean off your iPhone touch screen, carefully peel and cover the touch screen that does away with the finger greasy build up that everyone comes to hate right away. Marware also provides the handy micro fiber cleaner cloth that lets you keep your iPhone looking great.

The C.E.O: Premiere for iPhone
Review

On May 27, 2008, in Cases, iPhone, Review, by Gil Poulsen

C.E.O: Premiere for iPhone
Company: Marware

Price: $29.99
http://www.marware.com

I have to admit it right up front-I’m quite partial to the “folio” style iPhone cases; those that clip to your belt and hold the iPhone in a horizontal (sideways) fashion. Sure, it’s a tad harder to extract a ringing phone from the case, but most of them provide a cutaway at the bottom so you can push the phone out quickly if necessary. Obviously if you’re using a wired or Bluetooth headset, it’s not much of a consideration.

The primary reason I prefer the folio style is because in my line of work (Mac support) I am constantly crawling under desks and behind workstations to access cables and connections or move equipment around. With the iPhone constantly clipped to my belt, a case with a vertical orientation would, each time I bent over, create a permanent dent in my lower ribcage, and/or cause the iPhone to pop off my belt and crash to the floor. Clearly, not acceptable. Further, these cases cover the front of the device completely with a thick hunk of leather, so even if I inadvertently scrape it against a metal table leg or mash it into the wall trying to extricate myself from behind an equipment rack, the iPhone emerges unscathed.

Marware Keeps it Simple
Review

On April 7, 2006, in iPod Nano, Review, by Donny Yankellow

Stand for iPod Nano
Company: Marware

Price: $24.95

www.marware.com

My uncle likes to use the phrase “Keep it simple.” Marware has done just that with the Stand for iPod Nano. Even the name is simple. In keeping with that theme, this review will be simple, also.

As you might guess, the Stand for iPod Nano is exactly that – a stand for the iPod Nano. The Stand holds your Nano upright via a dock connector. The iPod fits perfectly on the unit, which matches the iPod perfectly (it is available in black or white). When connected to your computer with the included USB cable, it will sync and/or charge your iPod. It also has two line-out jacks that will fit a standard headphone plug, or it can be used to connect to any type of speaker system with a line in. You don’t have to be connected to the computer to use this feature, either. Therefore, you can take your iPod and speakers to any part of your house, outside, to the pool, etc. Don’t have portable speakers? Take the iPod to the speakers. I tried it with an inexpensive battery operated set of speakers, and it sounded great.
