Apple and CompUSA revisited It's been awhile since Apple and CompUSA joined forces and established the "store within a store" concept to deal with poor marketing from other retail vendors. I thought maybe a quick review would help us understand how things are working out. CompUSA begins to establish their "new" Mac stores, other retailers laugh and call them names, sales rise for CompUSA 13%, CompUSA laughs at other retailers; Fry's opens up its first "store within a store," ladders start to appear in the aisles of CompUSA stores right where the Apple products are, some sales personnel still don't know squat about Apple and the Mac product line; pressure builds to have CompUSA properly showcase Apple products in its advertising flyers... the new flyers appear with the Apple products on a separate pullout in the flyer at the beginning... flyer on 19 April 98 from CompUSA shows one Apple product.
Have I missed anything?
