Educate Yourself and Others! I am still roaming the World Wide Web, as well as other parts of the Internet, looking for information packed sites. This month I want to concentrate of the subject of education. I firmly believe that education is money in today's technological world. Lets start our exploring at the Apple America's K-12 Northeast Area site links page at http://www.northeast.education.apple.com/westoninfo/websites.htm This site has some great resources to help you find tons of information. Be sure to check out lots of the links, many of which lead to specialized pages of links themselves. I especially like the Digital Media Websites links at http://www.northeast.education.apple.com/westoninfo/webdigitalmedia.htm. And, as a photographer who works with digital files extensively, one of my favorite links from there is to Apple's ColorSync site at: http://www.apple.com/colorsync For something different, try the Infoplease.com site at http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004372.html. It has some very interesting information about the world. I actually use information from this site in my accident analysis work at times. But, what if you don't just want information? What if you actually want education? Then check out the free course offerings at notHarvard.com at http://www.notharvard.com/learn/courses.cfm. Note that the courses here link to one of three sites, which offer many courses not listed here: Metrowerks CodeWarriorU at http://www.codewarrioru.com/CodeWarriorU, jobs university at http://www.jobsuniversity.com/jobsuniversity, or Talk City Learning Center at http://www.talkcitylearningcenter.com/TalkCityLC. I have looked at a couple of the Learning Center courses, and they look really good. And, it is hard to beat a good course that is free! That's it for this month.
Email your favorite knowledge sites to me at
And if you know of any really great, innovative Internet teaching techniques share them with me and the world!
Next month we will see more of the best knowledge and information sites on the Internet.
And now, KnowledgeSpider's Knowledge/Information Resource recommendation of the month:
Knowledge: Grab some new knowledge at one of these great sites, most of which are available for free on the Internet.
In each column I will grab knowledge or information resources from the web and share them with you. If you have a learning or knowledge resource or a teaching technique that has proven particularly useful to you, share it with all of us by tossing it into my web!
