It's Simple...

EjectDisk is a simple little control panel that, if you haven't guessed from the name already, ejects all floppy disks. It will also eject CD-ROMs, Zip, SyQuest, or Jaz disks, depending on which key combination you press. This is, of course, much easier than dragging the disk's icon to the Trash. You're probably saying to yourself right now, "What about Command-Y, doesn't that eject the disk?" Yes it does, but you have to have that disk icon selected in order for it to eject. With eject disk, you can have a million windows open, and it will still eject your disk, CD-ROM, etc...... Pretty cool eh? Well......

One Problem

Just kidding!!! There's no problem with this control panel. It's very cool, and I really think that you should use the one minute download time (28.8 modem) to download it. The shareware fee.....well, no one likes paying that, but if you decide to pay one every now and then, think about putting this one towards the top of your list.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to shutdown your computer but instead you go to restart by mistake? No longer will you have to go through the whole process of launching your Macintosh again when you really want to shut it down. Shutdown Delay displays a dialog at restart and shutdown time which gives you five options:

1) Do nothing and let your Mac complete the original command you gave it.
2) Cancel and return to your desktop.
3) Restart your Mac.
4) Shutdown your Mac.
5) Force Quit and attempt to return to the Finder.

Options

When you open up the control panel, you'll see a button at the bottom that says "options." There are a number of options that you can choose from there. Some are for deleting the RAM disk contents before shutdown and blacking out the screen before showing the Shutdown Delay dialog box. These are just two of about ten. So download it now and take full advantage of Shutdown Delay 2.4

Disk Charmer lets you perform many tasks with any floppy disk you want. You may initialize, copy , or verify floppy disk media. You can also quickly erase any kind of disk, even using foreign formats such as MS-DOS. Another cool thing about Disk Charmer is that you can create disks larger than normal. You gain 9k on 800k disks, 19k on 1.4M disks, and 1.5M on Zip disks. That may not be very much, but when you want to fit that last part of a text report or whatever, and it says "19k is needed," then you may think twice about getting Disk Charmer.

Like I said...

Disk Charmer is a great application that's very useful if you decide to buy the cheaper($) IBM compatible disks and need to initialize all of them. And you'll be thanking the makers of Disk Charmer when you need the extra 9k, 19k, or 1.4M. I know I'll be!
