While the Thunderbolt adapter for the Seagate GoFlex drives does provide a markedly increased rate in transfer time... there's one thing I'd warn anyone who is considering or has already purchased one. These babies get hot... I mean REALLY hot. In less than a month after I purchased it, the entire exterior on which the drive itself rests "warped" in a wavy, ripple-like manner. The same occurred on the side of the drive it was flush up against... taking it from a smooth, slightly curved surface to one that has some unique distortions to it. Fortunately, no data damage to the drive. The adapter, however... warped so much that the opening for the second Thunderbolt port (i.e. used if daisy chaining to another device, which I wasn't) melted in a way so as to make it impossible to use it anymore. Seagate replaced it... but since then, I don't keep any of my drives connected for extended periods of time.
