iPad cases are a dime a dozen and I wasn’t expecting much when I got an email asking me to try out a new and different type of case. I agreed, and it turns out I was pleasantly surprised with what I got. The iCase is the iPad case I have been looking for, and didn’t even know it.

The case itself is made up of a very hard board. When closed it looks like a book. In fact, one of the customization options is to have a book/journal look to the outside of the case. The case is also available in a variety of leather, color, and/or pattern finishes. These finishes are what determine the price of the case. In the near future you will be able to provide your own artwork for the case. In the meantime, you can personalize the case with your name, website, or whatever on the inside of the case and it looks fantastic.

The only outside part of the case not covered with the finish is the portion with the easel, which is on the back. I’ll discuss the easel more below.

To insert the iPad you “snap” it into 4 corners which hold the iPad very snuggly.  All of the sides are covered with the same material as the corners, except in the opening for the speaker, ports, volume control, etc. I have no concerns about my iPad falling out of the case.

When closed the case has a nice, snug strap to keep it closed when not in use.

According to Prowis the iCase is able to be positioned in at least 9 different positions/angles using the case itself or the easel/stand built into the back of the case. This is my favorite feature of the case. I have been looking for a case for my iPad with an easel back and this has it. I have been using the iPad in various settings and the iCase has been flexible enough to put it into a position that works in each situation. Right now I am typing this article on a MacBook while the iPad is sitting on the floor and angled up to me at the perfect viewing angle.

The easel is very sturdy and strong. Even the easel has several positions which contribute to the 9 different positions mentioned above.

Some extra features of the case include a hidden microfiber wipe for the screen that resides under the iPad on a plastic bar. I showed the case to my uncle and when he saw the cloth he was sold on that alone. There is also a soft to tuck business cards to the inside flap of the cover.

Overall, I really like the iCase. It has become my regularly used case on my iPad. I have even discovered a use not mentioned on the website. The strap is flexible and strong enough to support the case and iPad in the car and attached to my headrest. The headrest poles go right through the strap and the ipad sits on the back of the car seat for my son to watch on long trips. I have been looking for something to let me use the iPad in the car, and I have stopped my search.

If you are looking for a classy looking, personalizable, strong, and dependable case for your iPad this is definitely worth looking into. Be aware that the size and bulk of the case will add size and weight to your iPad. I didn’t mind the extra bulk and weight for the protection and functionality the case provides. It is also a bit pricey for an iPad case, but you get what you pay for.

I bought two of these cases as Christmas gifts (one for me) and I have to say I love it! I highly recommend the case and was very happy with the customer service I received. I even got the cases personalized with the owner’s name because I was one of the first 100 to order the iPowis case. Go get one, you will love it! Did I mention it is real leather!
