Those great baldheaded actors

Ahem.

In order to add some cultural sophistication to MyMac, I want to talk about some great actors. Notably, Jerry Doyle, Ben Kningley, and . . . oh, I can never remember that guy’s name! – – Yeah, Bruce Willis.

These guys are great baldheaded actors. I am not sure why they are all baldheaded. It is probably an affectation, right? Nor does being bald have anything to do with their being great actors. It just makes them that more memorable to people like me who were once bald too. (My baldness was from a bit of chemo a few years ago.)

You always remember the great ones, don’t you? Like Chuck Norris’ recent great role recently in Santa Clause 2. Or Tim Allen’s great television dramatic series about that Texas Ranger fellow.

But we were talking about Jerry Doyle. I really loved his role in “Twelve Monkeys.” That was a great Monty Python movie, wasn’t it? Of course he got his start on televison series about a cheeky moonlighting detective, with that ditzy blond, . . . what was her name? Oh yeah, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ben Kingsley is remembered of course from his Star Trek series, where he plays the British starship Captain Picard. “Make it so!.” What fun! He played in a bunch of movies too, “Sexy Beast,” “Schindler’s List,” and “The King of Texas.”

Bruce Willis was great in the movie, “The Sixth Sense.” He was also memorable in “Artificial Intelligence (AI),” and his recurring role as Garabildi on “Babylon Five.” We all remember his marriage to actress Mandy Moore, as well.

I love the movies and television. But only the good stuff. Star Trek was always good drama because it did not resort to violence, sex or language to get its message across. In fact most Science Fiction on TV was of that excellent calibre (caliber).

Oh, as the years go on, my hearing isn’t as good as it once was. Nor is my eyesight, either. But those memorable roles by those great baldheaded actors like Patrick Stewart, Billy Zane, and William Shatner will always stay with me.

See! MyMac also has some culture and refinement here. Its not all just about world-class computers and rave reviews, awesome fiction, and sweet non-sense, is it?
